i have this on my bug as well m8, boot spoiler bolts were letting in water. i was advised to drill a tiny hole in the lenses at the rear to let air in to dry them out. in fact i might go an do it today now that you reminded me bud!

I had this in my classic.

First off, no point in getting rid of water in the light, until you have found out where it's getting in and cured it. On mine there was a tiny dint in the rear, looked like nowt, but it had pinholed and I smeared it with Carafax...that stopped it.

I had the light out, open, in direct sunlight in France for a day....it didn't dry out completely.

In the end, I devised a drier using a piece of copper conduit wire, like the stuff that is inside your walls, only single core. I looped it and twisted a piece of paper towel into the loop. Then, holding the light up to the light, I inserted the copper wire and paper towel and mopped out. With a bit of work I could see the last drops getting soaked up from along the very edges of the reflector etc.

THEN I left it to dry in sunlight and it's been fine since.

I had this problem before, I removed the light, Split the light open cleaned the inside out, put it back together and then used silicone to seal it..... Never had a problem since
