Bugeye projector HID
Hi all,
I have an 02 Bug Prodrive STI and the passenger side HID bulb has gone. I took the battery out over the weekend (as it had run flat), when I put the battery back in and jumped the car the bulb wasn't working (was working before that).
I've checked the ballast and everything looks to be connected (at first I thought I'd borked in putting the battery back in).
Can anyone advise what bulb I need to order and where is a good place to pick them up from?

First off, make sure it IS the bulb, by removing it and placing it in the known working light.
If it's still not on, go ahead and get a bulb.
if they are genuine HID's, it'll probably be a D2S, but ALWAYS best bought as a pair to get the correct colour temperature...4300K is best, then 5000K, DO NOT GO ABOVE 5000K.
If the bulbs WORKS when placed in the known working side, suspect the ballast. Remove ballast from non-working side, place on working side. Does problem persist? If so, get a new ballast. if not, (light now works), suspect the wiring.

Sorry to jump on this thread, I have recently bought a set go jdm sti hid lights to replace my uk300's rubbish hella's, I have followed the thread on here on how to strip and clean the hella's but there still a crap light for driving on back roads especially if there is on coming traffic. Does anybody have a description on how to install the jdm ones' I'm having to use aftermarket ballasts due to the lights being advertised as uk sti lights and not jdm ones.
