Have you checked the multi pin connector from the tail light cluster to the loom?

You sure it's not bulbs? Older ones blue over. Also check state of reflectors.

Next look at the connections to the rear of the unit. Find the earth and re-earth it with a wire to battery -ve. If the bulbs don't get brighter, it's not that.

The bulb (nearside) is a lot brighter than the other but once i press the brake pedal theyre all as bright as each other...once brake is released looks like that nearside bulb still has the brake on...

Just check the pins are clean and dry. Have you got the correct bulb fitted? Is it fitted properly?

Remove bulbs, clean connectors and sides with emery cloth or similar.

Check metal tracks in the bulbholder unit for corrosion, especially where the multi-pin connector fits to it.
Clean off any corrosion form there or inside the multi-pin connector.

Was gonna suggest the same! I found water coming in around one tail light, through spoiler bolt holes and lastly but by no means the least water coming in through a hole in the rear inner arch.
