Also power gains V mot there are 2 cats in the impreza, one in the DP and one in the centre, AFAIK the best compromise is to replace the DP and leave the centre cat in, should release 5-10bhp with a good increase in torque... as for the surging it seems to be a known ecu bug, may also be the boost solenoid (worth cleaning any way)

Cheers

Cool

On the surging issue go back through the drivetrain section and check out postings about ECU types 801 and 802 ECUTEK etc there has been a lot posted in the last few months.

BK.... I have a Power Engineering downpipe and a Magnex centre section for sale which will fit your car if your interested ! Believe me the downpipe does make a big difference, and I think everyone will agree its well worth it.

Cheers !

The magnex is a direct swap for the OE centre section. It does remove the centre cat. If the PE DP retains OE style flanges, then it will fit the magnex. I would be wary of the twin dump pipes as if your caar has soft engine mountings, the engine can actually move about enough to cause the "twin dump" pipe to hit the steering universal joint. NOT GOOD. Most people dont seem to have this problem, but a few have. One person on 22b.com, had is 22b uni. joint actually break. Go for a scoobysport front pipe + Magnex system. Both are excellent quality.

I know Mac's power, Paul, supplies systems for the bug eye with a sports cat in the Downpipe he may be able to get one for the My99 too. This should free things up more than keeping the restrictive Centre section in. This should get you through and you have the option of putting the centre section in again, for the test, if you are worried.
