North West 200
#1
I am considering attending next month's North West 200 and was wondering whether anyone has any tips/info. on the event (best vantage points, public access, etc.)? If I make the journey I would also visit Donegal so would appreciate any info you might have on this region, e.g. how easy is it to find accommodation here(b&b, guesthouse), are there any campsites, how much is gas?
Thanks.
Thanks.

There aren’t a lot of camping sites in Donegal, but there are a few in the Camping Guide Ireland. Go to http://www.camping-ireland.ie/donegal/donegal.html for info on what there is about. Petroleum is around €0.85cent per litre (£0.52p or thereabouts). There are some great roads about albeit in rough condition but beautiful, breathtaking scenery abounds. Have a look on that site and you might find something that suits you. Also try http://www.ireland.travel.ie for the official Tourist Board Site and http://www.map-ireland.com/route/index.asp for Map info.
Hope this helps.

Loads of camping in Portrush and Portstewart. Acees to the entire couse id good. Roads usually close at 9.30 - 10ish on Saturday, but will be bunged from early. No hassle if you are there for the weekend though. Best vantage point IMHO is a corner called Mahers Cross (fastest part of the circut with a bend and a bump. - 190 MPH knee down action) or the turn in onto the link road before Ballysally roundabout. (Flat out to 20 MPH - always a few spills)

LOL Lush has obviously moved on a bit since George W was there!
Turn up with gear like that and don't expect to get in, strict dress code now. Definately recommend Lush but be there before 9 if you want to get in on NW weekend.

There should be an address in there, but you can't miss it on the way into Portrush. Its on your left hand side coming into the town. Look for the big Car Park.... and all the buses.

Might see some of you around the environs of Portrush/Portstewart/Coleraine and across the border in luvverly (so I'm told) Donegal, then. I take it that typical Irish (or Welsh for that matter) weather is expected for race day, i.e. bleedin wet with scattered sunshine.
