My new wheels
Picked these up tonight for a few quid that was lying in my paypal account! Not in great condition as the laquir is peeling etc but gonna sand them down and spray 'em black and get rid of the dodgy alfa badges.
What ya think?

HA! You know i'll defect at somestage just not yet!
Will do, unsure of colour now as i really like the colour of my OEM Alfa alloys and think it may make my car look a bit chav in the matt black finish now.
Gonna give them a good clean today as they are filthy and see what the "real" condition of them is like. Not in any rush to fit them on the car, they just seemed like a goodish deal.
Whats the best way of stripping the laquer off these?

well took the powerhose to these to get most of the grime and any chipped paint off 'em. Found a big chunk outta one that i didn't notice and 3 dents on the lip of one of the rims, other than that curbed as **** but hopefully nothing a little bit of filler wont conseal!
Once dried outside they are going up to the bedroom to live for a while and to take all the moisture outta them before i start standing them down etc.

Well did a bit of sanding down on one of the wheels today, gonna use some liquid metal as suggested by Alan to fill in the curbing then do another sand out and ready for primer.

I put some chemical metal around the most badly curbed wheel today and started sanding it down, it has actually turned out pretty well for my first go. Most of the curbing is now hidden well, just got a few high spots and missed spots to tidy up then i'll put some hi-build on top to see how it looks and flatten it out from there.
Pretty impressed with my workmanship even if i did make some mistakens to be taken on board when doing the other 3wheels.

Nice wheels.. at least they will be when finished if you take your time. What about a dark gun metal grey finish ?
Put plenty of primer on them to hide any surface imperfections, but make sure to let each coat dry properly. A light coat of your finishing colour will be more than enough followed by a good few coats of laquer.
