Anyone recommend someone to re-gas my aircon

How much does this sort of thing cost?

Cheers,

Think its about £40-50 for a recharge, main dealers,Halfrauds, anyone who works on refidgerated lorry units should be able to do it for you.Cyril Johnstone outside Balyyclare used to do it but I think they have moved now.

Air Con SD134 Refill from Halfords Price £19.99

Air Conditioning Measure & Charge from Halfords Price £39.15

Was right, dont know how good it is but for a few extra dollars maybe should get an expert to do it.

I agree, for the sake of a few quid I'd rather get someone who knows what they're doing.

Dont get it done at a dealers, they call in the same person you could find in the phone book then wack on their fees for making the call.
Last time I got it done was for a Pug and it cost over £120 @ the dealers.

Have a gander through yell.com for local air con guys.

wonder what halfrauds do to locate the leak? Then of course they have to repair it before purging and pressure testing followed by purging again then refilling the system.

pumping refrigerant into a leaking system is illegal. wonder what sort of warrenty they give with their work.

I removed my ac system never really gets warm enough here and if it does I now just wind down the windows.

Frequently Asked Questions - Interdynamics Europe

guess its just for topping up non leaking ac systems

makes 1 hell of a bang when an ac system is over filled or topped up with the wrong gas

ok so not on a car but heres what can and does happen

sometimes its best to leave things to the professionals

If for any reason you disconnected the ac pipework then your system will need to be vacumed down to remove air or other things will start to fail compressors etc

I think the word "mentor" would be a better choice.

Your comments make it sound like the boy disliked me and kept constant watch on me or something

Having said that, someone who is so full of gas would be the right boy for the job.
