some local tuners can map newage cars but not classics, although reports back from those who have been maped are not glowing.
theres a planned JGM group mapping sesssion for september planned also.
pm 71/200 or info

If the car is already Ecutek'd and you have the license I believe an Ecutek tqeek is about £300...for a fresh map inc licence £550 both + VAT....Simon AKA JGM Joly Green Monster is booked for a mapping session in Sept, and the group buy price is already -15% so basically VAT free but with travel costs on top ( £10 per car last time I believe)
AI map Ecutek on newage cars, Paul Murray brings Andy Forrest over a few times a yerar at similar prices to JGM, and ECC may be worth a call as they are doing a plug and play unit I believe

ur gearbox will only handle my turbo Andy, and you know it.
If u can get Andy over again Paul I will be up for it. makes sense as I already have it mapped by him so it works out even cheaper! All depends on when i can get the new mods fitted though.

Ryan, imo there is not an Ecutek mapper i would use this side of the water, North or South hence i bring Simon over and Scubbay Brings MR F over! Down south they bring Bob Rawle! They dont have the experiance or frequency the mainland mappers have!I may be wrong but i have a feeling ECC are using Opensource software!
@ URBAN, Now, Andy never said I needed one (Ha ha, just thinking about what I just typed then means I probably don't) - whats the benefits in layman's terms.
Clearly you know best!
@ Scubbay, Paul i may have another one for you as the guy does not want to wait that long ie September so i will PM you the details on SI.
@ Andymac, the newage box is not as problematic as the classics. If you went for a STI turbo VF 30/34/35 it will handle the additional torque the car will produce. IIRC yours is a 2.5 Andy so with a bigger turbo and Fueling some nice gain to be had, sorry cant recall your current modifications!

I obviously don't know best since I asked what it does.
Andy told me about plugs & filter etc, didn't mention one of these though.
And since folk on SI were having them fitted I simply asked a question
So, back to my question what benefits would I have with one fitted?

I've posted it in general technical, maybe get a proper answer in there
71/200 seems to have gone back to hibernate
EDIT: Seems that a 3 port solenoid probably should have been used, but not much point fitting one and remapping.

In laymans terms it allows boost to hold longer in each gear, the early cars were fitted with a 3port as standard! It is a good supplement for Ecutek mapping on later cars.

Difference would be minimal against cost involved. A turbo change would give you more power for your money if changing your map and the only way to make big changes.
If you believed everything you read on forums.....

will be about 4 weeks till I get my new parts fitted Paul, will try and push it through though in time.
Sorry I cant guarantee it will be done in time.
@ URBAN. I posted a few posts up the benefits that I FOUND from fitting just a 3- port solenoid and the difference in power delivery was VERY noticeable. They are not necessary but they can be got for £50 and IMO worth it just for fact that they allow the turbo hold max boost for longer than a 2 port.

Let me know when you get a date and we can get the deposit sorted.
How does Andy Forrest do his mapping, on road or rollers?
Where abouts over here does he do it?
