Question Porter Cable Demo day...Tuesday 20th November 2007

Folks just to let you guys know, I have booked my car into Normans @ Cars 'n' Stuff in Antrim on tuesday of this week to give it the full pre winter valet.........I know a few people on the site are interested in car care and detailing and are unsure about Porter Cable and what exactly it does......so just to let you know I will be there all day from about 1000am till midnight and you are more than welcome to call in and have a coffee and see exactly what results can be achieved by machine polishing versus hand polishing......

The details of what I would class as a "full" valet are outlined below.....

Wash and dry
Clay bar the full car
Alloys off, washed dried and clay barred
Arches steam cleaned and re stone chip guarded
1st pass with PC and medium cut for swirl removal
2nd pass if required with light cut to remove final swirls
3rd pass with glaze/final finish
Hand wax, 2 coats at least
Glass cleaned inside and out
Vacuumed interior and interior plastics dressed
Wheels back on and dressed along with arch dressing
Full engine bay dressing
Exhaust dressing
Final mirror glaze dressing applied

This should set the car up for those long wintery days ahead, hopefully. Complete process is about 12 hours if working unassisted, or about 14 hours if Bushi is helping LOL

Just in case anyone is interested in seeing the results????????

Will definately be there at 9 matey LOL, Cars n Stuff is in Enkalon Ind Estate, the one behind Junction 1.......

They dont actually do valets, its just me and my kit and somewhere warm and dry with loads of free coffee LOL Although I could be talked into doing the odd car, ask Bushi what he thought after I had done his black Hawkeye....mates rates definately apply as I dont profess to knowing everything there is to know about detailing, just what I have picked up here and there, and I am more than willing to pass on what knowledge I have, hence this thread........

If you wanna take a run up, my number is 07711896594, gimme a call when you are coming up and we will make sure you find us all tight and even throw in a cup of hot brown of your choice LMAO

Oh forgot to add...I do NOT sell these or have anything to do with ANY valeting comapny so it is not a business "demo" aimed at any form of marketing. Just a demo to show what a Porter Cable is capable of for those who may be thinking of ordering one...............

Thanks for the positive comment, makes all the hard work worthwhile. Just waiting on the " I cant believe you spend that much time cleaning a car " comments...normally from the wife right enough LOL

Was thinking about buying either one of these or the ultimate detailling machine - thought I would use it so infrequently I wouldn't get my moneys worth out of it.

Are you wanting to try and recover your outlay on yours by doing some motors in your spare time? Would happily let you have my motor and a lock of pounds to de-swirl my paintwork and polish flat a few scratches.

I dont mind doing a few "mates" motors, as I quite enjoy it, problem is it HAS to be done inside and I cant always ask Norman to use his premises, so am a bit stuck, also work and other responsibilities ie the wife saying " not again" come into play which means I cant always say when I can and cant be available.....but should be able to get a couple of cars fitted in between now and Xmas if anyone wants theirs done.......will post up a few dates when I'm free when I get back fo my hols ......yay for sunshine at this time of year!!

i have to say the job this pc did with the trusty hands of the man they call BROCKS was amazing. My car had more swirls than a whirl pool and when it was finished it was like glass and so reflective. Thanks again matey
