Default Scan Guage 2

Well guys and lassies
got a new toy for the scoob, Brocks actually put me onto it, scangauge 2, really great piece of kit, heres some info on it for those who want to know

Easy to Install
Connects In Seconds The cable is detachable at the ScanGauge II and can be connected on the back or side of the unit. Once connected to your vehicles OBDII port, the ScanGaugeII automatically negotiates communications with your cars computer - It's that easy!

Compact Size
Fits Almost Anywhere
The compact size of the ScanGaugeII allows you to mount just about anywhere. it's so small, you can even slip it into your pocket and take it with you.

The dimensions of the ScanGaugeII are 4.8" wide by 1.5" high by 1.0" deep. The cord from the diagnostic connector to the control/display is 6' long and about 0.2" in diameter.

TRIP COMPUTER
Automatically tracks four sets of trip data - Each with 11 individually stored parameters.

DIGITAL GAUGES
Display 4 gauges at a time from the 12 built-in digital gauges. the information is presented in Real-time!

Read and Clear Trouble Codes
BUILT-IN SCAN TOOL
The ScanGuageII allows you to troubleshoot your own car, read error codes, and the conditions present when the error occurred. You can also turn off the “Check Engine” light and avoid those costly trips to the mechanic.

More info @ ScanGaugeII - Trip Computers + Digital Gauges + Scan Tool

Scanguage is a digital diagnostic tool........plugs into the diagnostic port under the steering wheel.

It will then display any 4 of the following exaples of readouts.
Intake air temp
Water temp
RPM
Speed
Load
Fuel pressure
Full trip computer/fuel computer

There are 17 seperate items to choose from, and as says it displays any 4 on a small digital screen about 1" x 4". The screen display colour can also be altered to a choice of 72 different display colours

some ones been doing there homework

Fuel pressure is good to know so that your not having fuel starvation (low) or over fueling (high) which either can in turn **** ur engine

it gives you a chance to watch how things perform, if not performing right you can usually get an early indication through this bit of kit, before it costs too much

The fault diagnostic tool is very useful, and if you are used to cars with a bit more luxury the trip computer is a nice to have.

I had it mounted in the centre of MY03 WRX, I will have to post up a picture of it in the new MY06 STi.

In terms of where you get them, there was group buy earlier in the year so it might be worth contacting the original supplier ?

Almost full, the nearest V power is on average 6 litres away Although the fuel tank and the rest of the car belongs to someone else now

I will post up the Hawkeye install later, I found a neat spot for it.

I doubt it will tell you fuel pressure, as these cars do not have any sensors to monitor fuel pressure.

Default u r right, step up to the top of the class

now that I have read, digested and got indigestion with the manual, its fuel flow rate, by which it does have, it works it out from throttle position and engine load, so sorry Brocks no fuel pressure. MAP is the manifold pressure, only prob its 2 seconds delay on the readings. Out of the 12 gauges only 1 is not present, fuel pressure.

Chris

sorry to go OT here, but the scanguage looks like a worth while piece of kit.

i assume the screen you priced chris was the DDX 7029 and not the 6029 as shown in the picture? the 7029 has a current RRP of Ł699 plus bluetooth.

if your serious about one, maybe worth calling into my work or giving the boss a shout on 02891 461899, he will be able to give you a stonking dealer and full local dealer support.

If you dont have a turbocharger, you dont need to worry about it

Id also be very very very very very surprised if this scangauge fits/works in any Subaru older than 2001.

guess what boyo, ya r surprised, really really really really really surprised cuz it works in my mates 1999 and my 2002, so as not working in anything older than 2001 has went clean out the window....

any car with an obd 2 connection, this will work on, most car companies as in 95% changed to this connector from 1996

but Im not here to argue now so b

Lots of cars may have this connector, doesnt mean they all use the OBD2 protocols, more so the earlier cars.
Everything 2001+ is OBD2 though.

Good to hear it will work on the older cars though.

So does it display the voltage output from the MAF/Airflow meter ? Could be handy info to have.

What actual readings can it give on the 99/00 cars ? The website doesnt really give any specific info, just generic stuff, lots of which wont apply to the Subaru.
