Why does everyone in Northern Ireland
insist on typing in txt spk? Txt spk ws nvntd 15 yrs ago 2 cope wth t 255 character lmt on sms. Now the characters are free - why not type the whole word and allow us oldies to read it without having a stroke?

as for me...
i hit code alot of the week plus i am dyslexic and it makes things alot easier for me, i have been involved in a few national online publications and moderated a couple of sites that required a fair old finicial commitment from me and one little lady got at me about the way i "txt typed" so i pulled the plug on the whole thing mind you i dont think it mentions it in the rules on here does it man?

Dont really think it is just us folk from Norn Iron ( Not txt speak just how we say it)
The younger generation use it all the time in forums but we are all a bit older here
Plenty of english based forums also have the problem if you take time to read back over the posts in this regional section im sure you will struggle to find alot of txt spk
But anyway its hardly going to change Ive heard that the english language is to incorporate txt spk so us oldies had best start learning it

There are no rules against it Geoffo. It just takes me longer to read it. Her indoors uses all of her 1000 free texts a month and can think in text. I usually send two or three texts every year, so I actually have translate each abbreviation
Ulsterscooby - I mean the Northern Ireland forum on here. There is way more txt spk in this bit than there is in Non Scooby Related. Dunno what General is like. I went in there once and got told of for messing about, so I'm scared to go back
Anyway

Good man (and Urban, and everyone else who agrees)
p.s. - I think I might be having a fight with the wife, but it is in txt spk, so she might be wanting a ****. If I post the texts up can someone tell me if I should be warming up or running away?
