Why don't people wave??
I have owned an Impreza now since August in Lisburn and since then only one person has acknowledged me , this was the other day on Moira road by the church!! It was a White Classic (nice might I add!!!! )
I was in the green classic if it was you??
Every other impreza I pass don't even bother or wave back
Why is this?!?

One of two reasons.
People over here are quite used to seeing scoobs, so often it doesn't twig with them when one passes.
Two, they are ignorant and don't want to communicate with fellow scoob lovers.
Most likely the first reason. Most people here are spot on and get a buzz from spotting a nice car.
anyway, from me!!!

Wavin'
I have been driving a scoob for about three years(classic blue MY99 Turbo 2000) and when I first got it waved like a lunatic at every scoob I passed. most were newer than mine and seemed to not enjoy the waving thing....
picked up my new STI PPP My05 on friday night and have been waved at (and waved back) by about half a dozen scoobs in the carrick/antrim area.Think it might be a city v country thing. City folk tend not to wave, country ones would wave at anything even a massey ferguson LOL
Keep an eye out for the new car, WRX plate, and I guarantee I will wave back..................

I think the main reason is that you never know if just because they drive a Subaru it dosn't mean that they will on Scoobynet and if you wave at them they might think that you are weird or you think you know them and they look back at you in confusion, mainly I don't intigate the wave as I may not get a wave back.
Hopefully that will clear this up, Windyboy

Markymark, good luck with your hunting mate!
Im on the lookout for an 03 sti myself, however as Daz says, there is a real lack of them here so it looks like england will be the best spot to go and get one.
The difference in prices between us and over the water is totally ridiculous.
Good luck markymark, hope to see pics soon of both our new cars on here soon

Bottom line and prob cos i spent most of my life in the country side, is that i wave and even flash the lights at other scoobs as much as possible. If they dont respond...so what!!
Right it is time to start a serious search for STI type UKs

Windyboy, The waving thing is not just a Scoobynet thing, it's a Scooby thing. I dont wave cos I think they are fellow members, I wave because they are fellow owners!!!!!

i agree with teamheath. Just wave at them. It doesn't matter if they don't wave back. You will feel good that you did and they probably will wave back or spend the next few minutes wondering who that was!! either way you win!!
catch you later!

I can remember waving at a green classic on the moira road recently but im not sure if it was yourself or not. I have a white classic myself so it could have been you. I would usually wave at other imprezas, but its nothing compared to my motorbike days when everyone nodded at you.

Cheers, i love the car to bits, I hunted for ages to find a white UK car. Your car looks well and the change from the old spoiler to the mid level one was a great choice. You any other plans for it.

Cheers mate,
Not sure yet, I think I want a PPP maybe. I definately want to get a new exhaust cause I love the burble!!!!!!
I want to keep the bodywork standard though, maybe add a P1 splitter and crystal front lights and things like that, not a lot really,
Any more plans for yours? So is yours a Turbo 2000 then????
Mine is in Eastwoods at the mo having a new rear passenger door put on courtesy of Tesco. So I'm without a motor for a few days!
Did see the 2 RB320s they have in the showroom, They are AWESOME

I saw them teamheath. Just wanted to get in and drive. If i got into one, there would be great difficulty in getting the keys back off me. They look awesome and go extremely well from what i hear.
The old STI might be getting traded in yet!!
