Privilege , who had stopped taking on any new business in NI , are not renewing any existing policies as from the end of June . My friend found this out yesterday from his broker when he went to renew his policy . He has got quotes from other companies twice what he paid last year ! The lowest was £1400 , more than the car's worth ( 1991 Mazda 626 1.8 hatch ) . He likes the car but it looks like it has to go . I suggested a 1.1L Fiesta which didn't go down too well . Plus he's getting married this year - how unlucky can you get !

So any of you existing Privilege customers prepare for a shock come renewal time .
