Sunday Driver ,
I'm not sure how easily I can get hold of 2/h 16" slicks/intermediates . I know I can get plenty of 15" stuff . I'll contact my tyre supplier and get back to you . Are the rims in good nick ?
BTW in case you didn't know it is considered rude to type in capitals on the net . It is the same as shouting .

Sul ,
You know Bill as well ? I think everybody must know him . Did you ever see the car he's building for hillclimbs/sprints with the 3.5 litre BMW engine ? It should be leathal if he ever gets it finished .

SUNDAY DRIVER ,
I used to type in caps until somebody told me .

I'm selling a set of 16" to a guy on Saturday. I'll ask him about his 15" wheels as I'm sure he'll be glad to mve them on.

Thanks lads . I was talking to Bill Adair today and he advised me to go for 16" rims as I would have better handling due to lower profile . He has plenty of 20-61-16 tyres which are exactly the same size as my road tyres . Apparantly the larger sizes (16&17") are easier to get hold of 2nd hand and therefore cheaper . Most of the rally cars that run these tend to change them at every service so there tends to be a fair bit of wear left in them .
Btw he has loads of 16"x8" tyres at handy money but you need an 8" rim to fit them . Anybody know where I can get a set ?
Sorry , scrap that idea . The 7" only just clear the arches so 8" rims wouldn't fit without some bodywork .
Anybody else interested in some 2/h or new competion tyres see me on Sunday at the meeting and I'll give you Bill's details . He is involved in all forms of motorsport as well as being a competition tyre dealer . He used to co-drive for Kenny McKinstry among others and can give good advice on tyres .
