I have just had the weekend to evaluate the work that I had done on my car. The result, F**KING amazing. I brought my car (MY98 Turbo 5 door) to Macs Motorsport in Clane and he absolutely transformed it into an animal waiting to be unleashed. This is the car I have always wanted, no matter what gear you are in it just wants to go,where beforehand if you were in 5th at say 50mph and you floored it , it merely gathered speed, now it accellerates right up to the red line without any hesitation.

I had a chip fitted and the boost upped to 1.3bar via a bleed valve, a stainless steel back box that makes the most glorious sound, a quick shift and a boost guage. All of this is reckoned to bring the performance to about 260bhp and boy does it make a difference. I would highly recommend Macs Motorsport and I even had the pleasure of a loan of Pauls car (the owner) for the day and this had a few tricks done to it. By the end of the day the keys had to be forcibly removed from my hand. Paul if you read this I hope I did not leave any mods outand I would like to thank you for a job well done,I didn't think it would have turned out this well.

Cheers

Alan

Need more speed.

Hope you are happy with the new modified quickshift fitted yesterday Alan? Should be better than the last one.
Still going like stink?

Paul.

Eoghan. I would fit a top quatity back box and an induction kit (if you don't have a scoop). Always a good place to start when looking for more power. Your options are limited on a non turbo when it comes to power.
Also available are quickshifts, brakes, styling...etc..

Cool

Paul,

Thanks a million for the great job on the Car..It now sounds like the real thing. The 4" Inch pipe was a great choice, it looks fabulous. Also the Pipercross Induction Kit was very well fitted considering the limited space in the engine bay..
Eoghan,
Bring your car up to Paul and ask him to fit the same mods that I had done, you will be very pleased. He is only 1.5 hours from Waterford.

Thanks a million,

Colin

Paul, I didn't get a chance to get back to you about the quick shift but on friday i also fitted a Momo gearknob which lowered the shift stick by about another inch. It is now exactly as yours was when I drove it, totally transformed. A gear shift is now a flick of the wrist and not a movemant of the arm.

Cheers

Alan

P.S. did you get you one sorted and Jason is waiting with baited breath to see if his T5 can be sorted.

Glad to see another happy customer Colin :-)
The backbox does sound amazing even if I say so myself. And it looks the business.

Good choice Colin.

The Pipercross took a bit of thinking on my feet but as you said with the limited choice available I think that it was the only place it could go. Bit of "brute force and ignorance" required but we have plenty of both around here :-)

I know the sound is great Colin but I don't think it made much difference in power?? What's your opinion after driving it for a few days? Difficult to get the sports going faster. BTW if you havn't seen Colin's STI lookalike then you are missing out. What a looker!!!!

Thanks for the compliments.

Paul,
About the Power difference, I don't know if there is but it does take off a lot more cleaning, but with traffic lights every 100 yrds in Ireland I'll suffer on.Hopefullly I can get a Jap Import STi in 3 years Time, hopefully by the Time I'm Thirty my Insurance will be the same as what I paying for the Sport now. I would need the car for a week to transfer all the mods to the new one.
