Dont really know much about it but would speak to the citisens advice. If you pay someone to do something you enter into a contract with them to provide you with that service.

I would get someone else to look at it ASAP, find out the problem and see if it is possible that the work you had done recently could have caused it if so then go back and ask for it to be sorted, by him or at his expense

It really depends what the problem is now ??
Those cars, along with all other 99- models suffer AFM failures at an incredible rate.
It may be as simple as having disturbed it during a service, that it has now failed. That would be beyond the control of any mechanic.
Of course on the other hand they may have been totally incompetent and messed something up.

????
doubtful it was MAP ( manifold pressure )sensor, they rarely give trouble.
MAF ( mass air flow, or airflow meter ) as I said give terrible trouble.
They are usually in short supply new, but cost around £60-70+vat from the dealer.
Certainly nowhere near £400, he went through about 8 of them.
Either way, a new map sensor would be nowhere near £400 either.

Air flow meters do give a lot of grief on '99-'00 thats why we always keep them in stock
So what was it Joe ?

And where was getting a damaged vehicle to run right mentioned ?? Dont all heavily damaged cars take a long time to sort out ?
I think you need to get a brain perhaps, and until you actually know anything about what you are talking, maybe you would be better saying nothing.

I personally think that AKABIGJOE owe's the garage an apology. You clearly state in the first post that they were not willing to stand by the work they'd done. It is for reasons like this that we are often so nervous about leaving people's posts up when they complain about companies. 9 times out of 10 there is far more to read in to the situation than what has been stated.

Please do not use scoobynet to do this kind of thing in the future.

While I agree with the webmaster here, from what I remember of the posts that have been removed, it was not AKABIGJOE doing the badmouthing as such. There was another new member called John or something that was doing it.
