Hi folks, i'm coming over on friday to pick up my98 2000 turbo. Can anyone advise me on where to have an alarm installed in or around Belfast. there is an immobiliser in the car, but for peace of mind i want to put something extra in, before driving around or parking up.

Also, where are the hotspots for toe rags, where shouldn't i park?

Many thanks

hi m8,

you wanna try the ICEMAN on the albertbridge road(just b4 the junction of the upper newtownards road). pretty good for alarms and he installs as well.

i wouldn't go parking in any of the free parking about the outskirts of the city centre. use one of the NCPs. i would get yorself a big **** off chain and padlock for round the steering wheel as well.

cheers

I'd recommend the Iceman too. It might be best to ring and arrange something before hand though.

Iceman again gets my recommendation, they have the contract to fit the sigmas to the UK cars that come into NI, so know their onions.
They are also the fitters for RAC trackstar.
My car sits everyday in West Belfast, Big disclok is a fantastic deterent.
If you are going into central Belfast Park in a multi storey eg castlecourt NCP etc.
I don't believe car crime is any worse here than in many parts of the UK, Yes they can brake into your home/office for your keys I have even heard of a couple of carjackings (non paramilitary).
Just use your head and take the same precautions you would in any large city.

Exclamation

- I wouldn't leave anything on display in the car!
put bags etc in boot, hide phone chargers etc, When I am in Dublin I tend to empty the glove box and purposely leave it open to show there is nothing in there!

Andy, if you don't mind me asking, without being too precise, where abouts are you. my car will be in west belfast until i can get it over here.

I have been told that they take cars out of castle court all the time!

Hotspots for Toerags???? Is anywhere safe? lets be honest. If you cant even park your car safely in your driveway ( and sometimes even your garage ) then can you expect any other public place to be safe.
Though, do not go anywhere near West Belfast. Thats where a good majority of stolen cars end up...burnt out of course.

Depsite the amount of people who have been killed and injured by these Scumbags who steal cars, the law still seems to do very little. As we all know, the honest motorist is a much easier target.

I think ICEMAN have a shop in Bangor too somewhere.
Id go for a Disklok or similar anyway, as most of the wee ***** can probably get round most immobilisers despite their high security claims. Also the visual deterrant will hopefully stop them punching the doorlocks and smashing the steering column etc whilst trying to steal it.
