Thumbs up

First of all I'm not really a virgin, just never been to Le Mans before, in fact I've been with loads of women....thousands in fact.........actually I'm suprised it hasn't fallen off yet.....

AHEM!

Sorry!

Gentlemen and ladies your advice please,

I'm after pootling down to Le Mans this year with some friends (1 or 2 car loads) and was after some general advice/handy hints.

Does anyone know any good travel firms that do packages?

What is the best campsite to get into or can you just sleep in cars/bivi bags on the floor etc..

Are there any car clubs that are doing a mass exodus thet have space for a couple of little'uns????

Apologies if this is in the wrong forum there's much better coverage in the General section.

Any advice would be more than welcome.

Dave

Gravedigger,
I'm called Dave, I'm a 6'4" hairy fat git and I fart a lot, hardly what you'd call Miss Right!
Hang on, I've just described my perfect woman!!

hello.

you can try the Club Arnage Website or the ACO websire. ACO = automobile club de l'ouest. With ACO you get access to some parts of track for viewing that you would not otherwise be able to access. Also, if you are a member then you can reserve grandstand seats across from the pits to watch all the work being done. We've done that twice and it was pretty ace

We normally go every year but are foregoing this year because the entry list is pretty much pants. Went last year and it pissed down with rain - very depressing as the previous time it had been glorious and sunny. Also, my favourite entrants are the Vipers and there were very few of those entered last year.

don't go to sleep at Arnage, on the grass, wearing green combat pants and a green coat I did and got kicked in the head by a passer by

Seriously though, make at least a week or so of it and get proper camping or accomodation, it'll be well worth it. We drove down on the friday, watched the race sat / sun ( slept..well tried to under the stars) then drove home sunday night / monday. It was a blast at the time, although incredibly tiring. Looking back now I wish I'd spent more time there.

Be prepared for the weather too, it was 40° in the shade when I was there, feckin hot I can tell ya!

Oh, take some bog roll aswell

Have camped in Car Park Blue the past couple of years (just outside the cicuit, opposite the pits).

Close to the action, and Friday night is amazing!

If you are intending to camp at the cicuit, make sure you bring plenty of beer with you before you get to Le Mans! We've made the mistake of underestimating our supplies, and once in, it is nigh impossible to get out of the campsite because of the random parking/camping arrnagements.

Be prepared to refuel at each garage you pass.........

I'm going down for the first time this year also. Two identical WR Blue STI UKs going down (& 4 lively lads) and camping in Houx Annexe.

Would be well chuffed to hook up with any similar minded Scoobynet people when there, to make a right good weekend of it.

Please e-mail offline, as I'm not sniffing about too often on this forum.

Cheers

Paul
