Favourite section of the ring?
Just got to thinking, which is your favourite bit of the ring? Please excuse the spellings in advance - Im not German.
So many good bits, Flugplatz, Swedenkruze, Aremberg, Fuchsrohe (esp the dip), Metzgefeld, ex Muhle, Hohe Acht, Hedgwishohe, Wipperman, Brunchen, Pflantzgarten III (where you have the do not lean sign for bikes..)
Whats your favourite - or somewhere else? (think I'll have to go with the dip at Fuchsrohe - you get so much g there....

I'm almost with Jock on this but starting from Hohe Acht through to Schwalbenschwanz. That whole section is where a lower powered car can keep up with the Beetles from Stuttgart.
Metzgesfeld is indeed scary, last year I had a sideways moment at the fast left kink before the corner and very nearly soiled myself. This year should also be very interesting at Metzgesfeld seeing as they've re-tarmaced a section of it and the seam of the new tarmac is right on the turn in point/dot for the corner!!!

Personally I love the start line as you know you have 21km of pure fun ahead of you
I can't wait to get out there again this summer

Kallenhard to Bergwerk is my favourite, i find Hohe Acht to Pflantzgarten II the hardest section to get right, i seem to not get the right line most the time, as they say, practice makes better lines

the exit of the Karusell through to Pflantzgarten 2, it's very technical with lots of camber and elevation changes with a lot of turning under braking downhill going on, which is very challenging to get right. Eiscurve and Wiperman exit are great for power oversteer fun.

Got my first trip to the Ring planned for May
I'm guessing my favourite section is going to be one I can actually remember from lap to lap.

What I want to know is do you have to go looking for the first curb through wipperman? The second one is fine and right on line, but the first one is of no good to me....

For once I 100% agree with you

Karl, Gutmann do you know of a good weather guide for "The Ring" and surrounding area ? and back on the subject of which is the worst bend, it must be the one where you turn in to go through to the entry barrier
regards "MADDOG"
PS Karl I take it the weather is still bad over there ?
