Cool German WRC Rally Aug 2004

Updated info here

http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthrea...59#post3303559

Ok who is going to go to the German Rally in August?

just sign yes or no and not leave long winded multiple posts.

I am in talks with Prodrive about getting group discount on the VIP passes if anyone is interested.

From Germany.

I have not heard from our Swiss contingent yet but have heard from someone in the UK who is bringing her entire family

The SWRT VIP Day passes will entightle you to spend the day with the Subaru team in their hospitality area, you wil get to meet the team and drivers, be able to take pictures and get autographs you will also get to look closely at the rally cars of the 2 Subaru drivers.

You will also be fed and watered all day by the teams Hospiatality tent.

You can sit and watch the world go by and the mechanics working on the cars, whilst the other menials are the otherside of the fence.

Feel important for the day. You also get one of those SWRT necklace things with your pass on it.

NOt sure about cost yet but will let you all know closer to the time.

How do you get the prodrive VIP thingys? Would love to go to rally abroad, only thing is i can't do a fly-drive option (too young for hire cars) and I don't have my own car (plus I don't think dad would b too happy me taking his)

Wurzel, you can count me in, but may be dependent on where the job takes me! You should also contact the others that joined us last year, I'll give you the email addresses when I get back from Canada (if they dont contact you directly).

LOL at STi Bimbo!

Cool

It's just under 300 miles from Calais and took us about 6 hours but that included refuelling, food & loo stops of which there were many

I've done a similar journey (from the 'Ring) which took quite a lot less time but involved rather more mph and only one stop

Sal, you must have been going very slowly if it took you 6 hours from Calais, I used to do Calais to Heidelberg in 6 hours in my Escort with a bike rack... maybe you shoukd see a doctor about your bladder problem

Rigpig, can't remember the exact dates off my head, but you can find them on www.wrc.com and I think the official website is www.rallye-deutschland.de & should be available in GEnglish!

Al That included a stop for brekky in Calais, plenty of coffees along the way and a lunchtime pizza in that godforsaken service area in Belgium of which the name escapes me

Oh and another detour to have a drive of the public road part of the Spa circuit which was closed due to a race meeting

It was a very leisurely drive

Would that be Luxemburg then? Must admit, its a nice drive from Calais to Trier, so it is worth taking your time and enjoying the view! I never really got the chance driving from South Germany to Northern England in one day

Interested in going as well. If I get no joy from a couple of my mates by the middle of this week I'll be looking at booking the really expensive single option. Unless anyone wants to share costs/drive etc (I'm based in the East Midlands, UK).

Latest news from SWRT:

Hi Steve,

Our large group from Pirelli are now confirmed for Friday of Rallye Deutschland, so if you guys wish to book in for Saturday and/or Sunday we'd be more than happy to look after you.

I'm sure we'll be able to arrange for you to have behind the scenes tours of the team, cars and Pirelli if you wish. The drivers may also be available for a meet and greet to sign autographs and have their pictures taken. I'm down to do Germany, so will be able to make these arrangements for you easily.

Please let me know how much interest there is from your SIDC/Scoobynet colleagues and we'll come back to you with prices.

Speak to you soon.
If any of you are genuinly definately absolutely definate then just let me know.

Steve

We are going to be camping for the weekend and will be leaving Böblingen on thursday afternoon/evening to get up there ready for the start on friday.

We should have 3 or 4 scoobies going up.

I really must read peoples posts properly before replying to them.

Ok so you are going at 10am ok no probs just make your way to BBN and we will wing it from there.

Reutlingen is spitting distance from here, ok Siggi we can all meet up at mine thursday and go up in convoy. I will PM you my address closer to the time.

Siggi are you and your party wanting the Prodrive VIP cards or are you not bothered.

I really ought to start making a list of who wants them.

Steve
