Change of plan.

The track is not open all weekend, there is some sort of race on Saturday, should be fun to watch. It should also give me a little time to go to the Museum, karting etc.

I expect to get there around 3pm on Friday, and go home Monday evening, so I will get a good few laps in. I am also hoping it will be a bit quieter on track too.

Track Times
Fri 16th 1415 - 1930
Sat 17th 1700 - 1900
Sun 18th 0800 - 1930
Mon 19th 1300 - 1930

www.ferrysavers.com for a ferry and I have booked to stay at the Pensionen Jung - Stroof.

Question

Where was the meet?

Isn't that a 924 Carrera GT?

It's Easter Monday at the Anneau du Rhin between Strasbourg and Mulhouse near the French-German border.

Won't be there, have to work on Tuesday. Will make it only to the Ring

The Car is a race prepared 944 Turbo, I think. With all the goodies of the 924-944 range, i.e. front air inlet, bonnet scoop.

Cheers

Hello Davyboy,

not quite sure atm. Would have to convince the new girlfriend either to join me or to let me go. She grips the Jesus handle very hard even when I'm going in a straight line. But she is willing to get used to more. Good girl.

I'll probably stay at my uncle's place near Bonn, about 100 Km away. I owe him some beers, you understand?

Will let you know on Monday.

Cheers

Coming for Sunday! Maybe even Saturday afternoon, depending on whether the girlfriend joins.

See you then.

Hi Davyboy,

my return took a bit longer than anticipated. I made a slight detour to see my uncle and finally left very late.

Then underway I met all members of the rain family: Slight Rain, Continuous Rain, Strong Rain, Heavy Rain and Enormous Rain, usually called 'Downpour' and married to Standing Waters. At least I escaped being introduced to their offspring Aquaplaning. As it is with those family meetings they cost a lot of time. That night I got very little sleep. Some of it even at the roadside just 50 Miles from home.

And you are right. I, too, was very impressed by your smooth driving. Especially when changing gear before turning in. I try to imitate Alain Prost's style of braking into the corner though one of his contemporary F1 collegues said he almost killed himself in copying that

Anyway, good to see you and Clare and drive the Ring with apropriate tyres now. I'm up for the next meet

Cheers

Ralf

Question

Is the changing down before a corner a bad thing? I know mid corner is, but I try and get all my braking and gear changes done before I turn in.

I'll be back soon.

Of course: get all your braking and changing gear done before the corner starts. I should realise that other techniques should remain reserved for multiple World Champions and be smoother anyway, i.e. you drive very well and I try to copy an almost impossible style.

Great pic!

And if anybody asks: No need for a helmet when you drive with Davyboy!
