@Chris: it's the Stilfser Joch / Paso di Stelfio (2758m)in the Italian Alps between Meran and Lago di Como. Not often part of my annual cross-Europe-on-B-Roads-as-fast-as-you-can-holiday. Once I took a man to the top who's Mk II GTI had starved from thin air. He told me he was the waiter at the restaurant at the end of the univer... no at the top of the pass. And the road was not that dangerous. Only one or two cars fell off every year But only old people, as they overrated themselves
In that region you better watch out for FIAT Pandas resmbling rusty dented buckets more than cars, humbling big Tourist cars in the twisties
Strongly recommended area for driving pleasure.
Cheers
Ralf

So Ralf, when´s the next meet?? Steve, myself and Richard are keen to meet up with you guys sometime before christmas if possible...?
Also on the subject... have anyone of you thought about putting a trip log together for members etc...? Back in Aus we have (and created) things like this :
4wd trip book
These were brilliant - gave loads of info on different trips and suggested too things to try - with 4wd it was easy to have a meeting on how to drive through high water etc. I dont see how it would be difficult to do this sort of thing for us?! The austrian border from me is only a stones throw, and the black forest is close to steve - and well, there must be loads of good places to try out...?
