Has it controlled volume to an amp or some other ICE component.

Would be my guess if it does nothing now.

 

Just checked the boot & there's amp leads under the carpet.... What a **** place to put it though

 

easy enough to remove and replace the blank, if the last owner had drilled the centre console or something then it would be a pita to sort imo.

I was reading a thread in the ice section earlier today and came across a post with an similar switch that had been mounted in the same place. The reason in that case was that it was wired to a dvd head unit and the switch was installed as a bypass so it didn't work off of the handbrake and stop the dvd being used on the move.
