Default Water in boot

Since getting the car i noticed a damp smell in the boot, after opening it today whilst the rain was coming down heavy it looks damp all around the spare wheel well section, and some in the spare wheel well against the spare wheel.

List of things to check?

Thanks

Check where the spoiler bolts to the boot and around the lights! Most common reasons for wet boot...
My boot was damp when I bought car, resealed spoiler now all ok.

Boot seal, after time they go and leak like a sieve, especially if the car is parked on a slope as the water collects around the base of the rear screen. I found enough water coming in my boot that way that it ran through the car and left a 2-inch deep puddle in my drivers footwell

Il check the boot seal tomorrow but whats the best way to go about sealing the spoiler? Take off and put some sealant around the bolt holes before clamping it down?

Might as well do that too just incase....

I guess with regards to the boot seal i would need a new one and dealer only?

Thanks

The passenger side rear lights are a classic for leaking on the classic jap impreza's.

Best way is to pull down back seats, get a torch, then get someone to get the hose pipe on rear boot, easy.
