I had a flashing LED in my old car that ran on a battery. It was designed for dummy house alarms , but i put one in each door pillar and added a couple off clifford stickers ! Maybe thats what it is , but the battery has died ?

Not standard no. Have you got an after market alarm system?

Do you still have the centre pod dash with the digital clock? Or have you got centre 3rd party gauges?
If the latter then this will possibly be the standard alarm light that would have flashed in the centre clock console. When I had my gauges placed and replaced the centre clock this light is now behind my dash and came on once you armed the cat 1 alarm system. maybe the owner before you had forsight to move this elsewhere.

I used to fit 8mm flashing LEDs into my cars. They ran off the car's battery when the ignition was OFF, using what's called a s a "normally closed" relay. Once the ignition was on, the relay powered up, opened and switched off the LED.

Used to sell a small kit inscluding LED, LED holder, relay with wires soldered on, a couple of scotchloks and instructions.

I tried changing my standard one for a blue clifford one, cause the standard one is not very bright but they dont work.

Something to do with the voltage needed to run the clifford LED is different from the voltage that comes from the sigma alarm unit on the car

Would still like to upgrade it if anyone knows how..?
