speedo going faster than travelling ,uk turbo
hi , ive just brought a w reg uk turbo and the speedo is going roughly twice the speed as i am. ive tried changing the clocks but its still the same . any ideas please , thanx

clocks are uk spec and ive been told today it has a version 2 gearbox in it , gonna check the wiring at the box tomoz and see if its ok

checked the gearbox codes and its a uk 98 , the sensor has 2 wires is this right ? but also i found some paper work stating the car had a problem with the rev counter when the light were turned on but this was fixed . i wonder if there is a stray wire some where

i would check the vss (vehicle speed sensor i think) wiring at the transmission end as a start point. I think on that car the signal wire comes from the trans, then T's one feed to the clocks and one for the ecu.
I believe there are 2 types of sensor, 2 wire & 3 wire, I dont know if this is the cause but If you have had a gearbox swap then it could be. sensor/clocks mismatch.
