Never seen one of those before. It's Definatley after market, is yours a jap import if so it could be for your fog light?

If not it could be for a switchable map on the ecu

My car was sold in Belgium but first registered in the UK. It was built to UK spec as far as I know. I'm pretty sure its not the fog light switch.

Some sort of alarm?

I'd try to trace the wiring. It's definitely not standard.

Oh yeah, clean your car

I thought it could relate to an alarm but an alarm with a switch? That just doesn't make sense to me.

Just a note, the switch light does not illuminate unless the keys are in the ignition.

Does the car start with the switch in either position? If so I doubt it's an immobiliser.

it's the same switch that came with the max power neon kits, but as said.. it's just a generic aftermarket switch you can buy from ebay/maplins. could be used for a million thins by the last owner.

But it could be lights. Just follow the wires to see where they go.

have you got a laser diffuser or speed camera detector? look for a matchbox sized widget near front grill/numberplate area, if not last owner might have taken it off and left the switch. Any gluepad residue anywhere near front grill?

If you get caught with it on your car whilst dodging the speed traps, you will have to give the police/judge a watertight reason as to the units use - legally - if you can't, you may find yourself in trouble..
