can anyone tell me how to remove the piller so i can fit gauges there? because i cannot see any screws ect

AFAIK, it fits with clips. Find one end, or the other, insert flat tool under it, prise up gently. Repeat along it's length. Try to get the tool WELL under before lifting, so as not to distort the edges, and place the tool as close as poss to each clip, so as not to distort the trim along it's length, (bend it).

I think it may be connected near where the seatbelt is bolted to the B pillar.
Did you buy a Nomad pillar holder? If so, they do fit over the original pillar.
