Default Changing the seats in a classic

Hi,

I know that the front seats from new age models fit but is it a straight swop or is there anything else that needs to be done?

Is it possible to fit the rear seats from a 02 STi? I like the idea as they would match the front and it would save covering the seats in there.

Cheers

Matt

Fronts are a straight swap, just be careful when fitting the new ones, leave all bolts finger tight and wiggle the seat about to get all bolts started: ALL bolts should finger tighten, needing only nipping up with your socket. If you have to force one, be warned, it WILL strip the bolt threads

Expect to sit a bit higher with newage seats in a classic.
Can't answer about the rears, soz.

Thanks for the reply. Good to here the fronts are a straight swap. Do you get used to the seats sitting higher? Are the newer seats better than the ones in a classic?

Ive had a look and although they look nice I would be gutted if I didn't like how they felt as I am happy with what I got in there. Money will be better spent on performance!!

Rear seats from a newage fit just fine. I've fitted ST8 front and rear seats and had no problems with the fitting.

would that mean classic rear seats would go in a new-age too?

Yes, there's 2 fixing holes for the back part, in a classic the bottom hole is used for classic seats where as the top hole is used for newage seats.

Did you retrim the rest of the interior or leave it as it was? How do they look fitted?

I plan to get the door cards re-trimmed in blue to match the seats. Will take a couple of pics of the seats.
