Curly Cables
I have seen on here on a member's car and also on current WRC cars curly cables from the steering wheel into the dash. I PM'd them but no answer. Anyone know where these can be bought from please?

hi,
you'll find that the wiring on a wrc is very different to road cars...
anyway, i think you'll find that the cable you can see is heat shrink sleeve, called raychem dr-25... the old school way of doing this is to shrink it down onto the cables inside, then wrap it around a steel bar, around half an inch in diamater then re heat the shrink... make sure you can't let it unwind, then bung it in an over for an hour or so...
well, that's how i used to make them anyway... but for the other side...

you could always try the local electrical factors... just depends how many wires you want to use (and what for...)
cheers,

I just fitted this for the horn, very cheap, good quality and heavy gauge cable.

Just cut the ends off and fit.

As requested;
Been fitted now for a few months, no kink's and the cable is long enough to wrap around the column on full lock.

Does it annoy you when the cable hits your legs?
I presume you had no airbag control ring to use as horn wiring?
I managed to canabalise mine to operate the horn but still need more button functions on the wheel too.

no probs. SN is veeeeeeeeeery slow just recently dude. i took it off cos i just fancied a change. you see, with the push button start and the HKS turbo timer, they use the same plug and play wiring so i can only have one in at a time. in a couple weeks ill put it back on no doubt. im always changing it around as it only takes minutes to fit. but i do luuuuurve the curly cable'ness. lol
