Default Classic Door cards

Can facelift door cards be fitted to a pre-facelift and still work switch wise ?

i know the window switches are in a different place, but these are controlled by wired plugs behind the door card, are the interfaces the same on facelift as pre-facelift so fitting facellift ones wont affect windows being operated etc via the switches ?

hope that makes sense ?

cheers

Slightly off topic but I'm trying to figure out what door cards I have on my 98 wagon. They look like perhaps three piece panels, including one large door handle with switches, a top and a bottom part. I have alternatively seen panels which are like a one-piece moulded, upholstered card with a plastic cup to act as a handle. What are each of these know as? I never know what to ask for, as I'm trying to replace the handle on mine.
thanks!
