The heater control motor on my 97 WRX 5-door (chassis code GF8) has decided to pack up, or so i've been told. At any rate the temperature control now effectively only has two settings - cool or full-on hot, nothing in between.
The problem is that nobody seems to know what the UK equivalent part number is, and direct from Japan, after taxes, VAT etc it would come to over £800!!!
Apparently this is because mine's a 5 door, and none of the UK books have 5 door heater component part numbers.
So, anybody know for sure whether 5 doors got a completely different heater control motor (and if so, why?), and is there a cheaper UK equivalent that i can fit safely? The part number on the unit itself is 72311FA030.
Any help/suggestions gratefully received. Cheers.
