whats going on with my speedo?

Default whats going on with my speedo?

Hey folks, the speedo in my 96 sti 3 has recently started to play up, when its going up to speed the needle is bouncing like crazy all over the place, it stops at the correct speed which im going but keeps rapidly flicking back and fouth, i checked to see if the speedo cable was loose or somthing, but it feels alright, anyone know why this might be happening??

Sounds like a sticky cable. Best bet is to replace it!!

right i was driving on the motorway today and my speedo stopped working, when i was going to stop at the severn bridge to pay i dripped the clutch and has it was going down the revs the engine cut out, and then the cel came on, my speedo does work at all now and the car dont seem has powerful can anyone help??

did you manage to sort your speedo fault out as I have a similar problem which is driving me mad!!

are your scoobs imports if so check you speedo convertors had same fault on mine either behind clocks or near gearbox
