As the title. Any solutions apart from throwing it in the canal.
Have ice and golf clubs that need to be OOS.

My solution was to buy a louder exhaust and then turn the volume up on the stereo so I can hear it

I've got the same prob. What about fitting a small rubber band over each end (where it hooks in at the back of the car).

Might try this with a bit of bicycle inner tube this weekend.

Just to clarify, is it a "rattle" or a "squeek"

I can let you know how to fix either - had them both...

"But beware thought it was this rattling until i discovered it was the boot catch and it took two services and a lot of fiddling by the dealer till it was corrected" Yep this can happen with our cars - they are all too eager for our $, but still aren´t able to fix it.

My "squeek" came from the inner plastic rubbing at odd angles - this was due to one of the little plastic studs comming loose, thus allowing the plastic cover to move a little. The piece I refer to is the curved part just below the gas dampers (for holding up the hatch) and behind the rear lights. The only way to find the exact point was to drive along on a dirt road with the girlfriend in the back listening for the noise. Once spotted it was easy to fix. Quick and nasty soln - some paper folded and stuffed behind. Then later get another stud and do it properly... No more squeek.

But now I have two more things that have started to bother me - behind the front console i now have a rattle - only appears at idle - damn thing, can´t locate it anywhere... Really don´t feel like pulling off the front panel either And the second is I have just started getting wind noise from the front left window - I think the seal isn´t doing its' job..

You sure it's the cover? Seems common for the 'central locking solenoid to boot lock' actuator bar to rattle like a b*stard....while I've identified it as culprit on mine, I've no idea of how to stop it. Anyone?!

Think I'm going to make it dealers problem at next service.

Thanks All! I checked the tailgate catch last night - moved it as far forward as standard holes would allow and my rattle's gone.

Cheers
