Right i've finally got my replacement rev dial workings having killed the original when doing the white dial malarky
So it's come with all the dial etc still attached & i really dont fancy trying the 2 spoon technique as it failed majorly last time so any extra tips to not muller the spindle?

Kum on any1 got the finer tips of the spoon technique?
All i wana do is stop the spindle poping out as is common! So is there sumin more specific than stick 2 spoons under centre bit heat with hair dryer & prize off? does it make safer if the spoon makes contact with outer edge of the centre circle bit of needle? Tempted 2 hack away at the spare needle which came attached in the hope it drops in half easily but seems quite sturdy even with the sharpest hotest of blades!
Please i dont wana have 2 spend another £45 on more spindle bits

I changed my dials to white dials and I'm afraid the spoons and hair dryer worked fine for me, don't know any other way. Only thing I can suggest is be brave, heat it up loads and pull!

I used the hairdryer technique and it worked but i broke the holder that the spindle sits in so i had to use some lock wire around the holder to make it a tight fit again this was after taking it off and on to get the speedo reading right.

Si,
When i did it (using the spoon technique) I used 1 spoon, 1 hair dryer and 1 pair of snipe nosed pliers (though any thin nosed pliers would do). Sequence as below :
1. Grip spindle with pliers,
2. Use edge of pliers as a fulcrum for the spoon
3. Get someone to hold the hair dryer aimed at the plastic bit ontop of the spindle.
4. When hot gently start levering the top off, whilst gripping shaft with pliers.
Within 5 minutes (with a 1200 watt hair dryer) it`ll be off
Hope u have more luck with the next one.
