Question

Has anyone got a Heads Up Display system installed in their car?

I'd be interested in a Revs/Speed(mph)/Timing HUD if there are any available.

The Defi Boost HUD looks great but they don't seem to do one with the bits I want (mph!). Does anyone else make them? Has anyone else got one?

polarbearit- I've got a defi vsd 2 hud in my my97 impreza. The speedo is switchable between mph/kph and has led's at the bottom of the display which represents rev's. It also stores the max speed and a few other functions but it does not record 0-60 dash.

The previous model had a rev counter which circles round the speedo and a fan which lights up when the turbo kicks in but it only could display kph.

Hope this helps.

I much prefer the other design with Km/h only... Does the HUD look better than this photo or not?

I'd have a Km/h only one, but as my car only has KM dials I'd rather get something with mph.

So stoopid mode round 2 plug where just in the same place as where the standard plugs for the rev & speedo go in the back of the dash? Surely not the pix of the plugs didn't look the same??
Anyway me der?

Talking

Just been looking at one of these, they do look tasty. Anyone know how much they go for?

The only things of concern are that the pressure is measured in kg/cm2 (I'm a psi man ) and whether the turbo timer would still work in conjunction with the factory immobiliser on me MY00 (I suspect not).

fitted a standard HUD in my cossy, works a treat but had loads of problems getting a gearbox impulse genny (cosworths dont have electronic speedo) its just the basic revs/KPH/MPH/top speed jobbie, didnt go for the boost one because they didnt do psi, dead easy to fit with simple wiring instructions, only drawback is you cant see it in brilliant sunlight, defi are now talking about bringing a bar/psi one out so i might go for that. on the plus side its more accurate than your rev counter/speedo. cheers nomad

Post seems to have gone quiet. The Defi HUD according to the Takaira website only has applications and ECU wiring diagrams for Toyota and Honda.Which model do people have on their Scoobs.
