Question Installing Dash Cupholder

I have a 98 Impreza Turbo Wagon but don't have a cupholder in the dash...above the head unit/heat controls.

I've been able to get one from another car but have no idea how to remove the blanking bit on the dash and fit the cupholder in.

Does anyone have any ideas? Is it a case of removing everything from the dash?

Please help

I've not seen the blanking bit in there, cos I've got a cup holder. But if you remove the top dash, it will help you bash/cut/grind/drill or whatever through it.

Alright mate, Have you managed to do this yet. i done it on my 98 terzo, not a hard job but you do have to remove the full centre console, no cutting or anything like that involved.

You don't have to do much, actually: Take the top trinket box off: two screws under covers, then wrap a duster or something through the catch on the base, and pull HARD towards you.

Once it's out, you can get at the two screws that hold the cupholder blank in place.

Replacement of the trinket tray is the reverse: put it in place, push it home, hard, do up two screws.
