Question

I've fitted a boost gauge from Power Engineering to my MY97 scooby but it doesn't want to stay fixed to the corner of the dash next to the A pillar; no matter what is used to fix it in place it jumps out of position as soon as I go over a pothole or speed bump Is there a super strong glue that I can use or do I have to nail the b@stard down?

Have you tried strong double-sided tape?

I would recommend hot glue, but that melts when it gets hot - as it has a tendency to do in a car window!

Try either sticky velcro, or a good double sided tape. Failing that, screw the swine down

I've used that gunk that comes with speakers - not very useful of course if you don't have a new pair of speakers but it must be available from somewhere as it appears to be the same stuff as the revolting gooey stuff that keeps the thin plastic sheeting on the inside of the doors... Works a treat: slightly flexible so doesn't mind bumps, is about the same colour as the dash so you can't see it, doesn't go brittle in the cold, haven't had a chance to find out if it smears off in the sun yet and entirely removable (with a bit of the usual fairy liquid) when it's time to go!
Marvellous stuff!

Cheers for the suggestions everyone. I've already tried the blutack so it looks like I'll be glueing and nailing it in place this weekend.

At work we use a product that 3M manufacture. It's like minature sticklebrick on a tape (if you can remember that stuff from your childhood !)

Works like velcro so you can take it on and off and it's very strong. I've used it to stick my Geodesy onto the top of my dash and it's never come off yet (despite some serious cornering loads )
