Default PSI3 unit Pod mount to DIN mount

I've managed to get my PSi3 unit out of the supplied subaru top pod, as I have a change of plans and want it din mounted.

So, from:

I had the same problem when I installed a set of defi's in the top mount, decided to mount it in the sun visor in the end, just need to spray the visor matt black now to blend it in

What did you do before deciding on the sunvisor? Its different, but its not what I'm after.

Come on guys and girls. You're about as much help as PSi3 themselves at the moment!

You need the Subaru supplied pocket that PSI3 use to fit the monitor in then it just fixes in under the single din head unit.

KJDMK1 is right. I have visited Simon @ PSI and he showed me the standard Subaru pocket that he installs the DIN mounted monitors in. Its just a plastic DIN size box which gets drilled to suit the mounting of the PSI3 circuit board.
You will also need the mounting brackets for the front panel. Again Simon can supply these or you can make you own.
You might also need a new front panel or cut your own to fit.

I converted my PSI3 from a MY99 top pod mounted version to a DIN version for my MY03. I made my own box from some thin alloy and just slid it in the DIN hole.

Cheers
Steve

Well, Im going to keep the top mount now, as I've got a double din HU on its way. I did have a single din unit, but it tapered in, so the PSi3 didn't fit.

As for Psi3 advising, I'm yet to have them reply to any of my PM's or emails. Great customer service.

Thanks for the advice anyway, and if you have the part number for the subaru item, please post it up. It might help someone out.

I have also not had any emails from you to either simonj@psi3.co.uk or sales@psi3.co.uk
I have replied to your PM.
