Did a lot of asking and searching on this about 6 months ago, and came to the conclusion it wasn't worth the effort.
The seats in my '98 car have been replaced with those from a version 6 STi, easy to do and nice to look at. I needed to change the seat belt mountings for those off my old seats.
I sold the old ones on E-Bay

Best to try a few out.
IIRC 'Border' do some nice ones at the right sort of price. About £550-650 for a pair of lightweight carbon ones. You'll have to make your own brackets though.
There are implications of using fixed back seats though (apart from the obvious ) I cant recall exactly what but have seen it discussed before....something along the lines of...fixed back seats are bad in the event of a roll-over, if not using a rollcage.....if using a rollcage then a helmet is recommended etc...
Don't quote me on it, as its just from memory. Worth a search though.
