Default Early classic rattling/creaking interiors!

Right i had been told that interior build quality on early classics was shoddy, lol no ****! Its worse than a 1990 seat Ibiza i used to have.

Now i know you dont buy an impreza for the refinement etc, guess i have been spoilt by having a octavia VRS for the past 6 months, lovely interior, no creaks, solid plastics etc etc.

But Last year i did have an MY98 STi and the interior did not rattle or squeak, obviously they improved the build quality on later classics.

I just wondered if anybody has tried to derattle their pre facelift classics? Was thinking of dynomatting the doors, not overly concerned about adding a little weight to the car.

But anyone else any ideas? Its not the end of the world and i can live with rattles, as i said i didnt buy it for comfort! but would be good to sort some of them out

One of the main culprits is the plastic strip that runs across the front of the scuttle/base of the windscreen. It pulls off, then you pad it with foam, and refit it.

At the moment my o/s rear door squeaks and rattles like a hive of rats< (do rats live in hives?) I MUST get round to taking the ddoe card off foe a look, it's only about ten minutes' work, yawn.

You could, of course, fit a HUGE zorst and induction kit, then you won't hear the rattles
