Default my03 > my05 dash

Just a thought guy's
Has anyone done there own facelift on the centre dash to bring the 03/04 centre dash upto 05 spec?

Just looking for some imfo as to what's involved, are we talking just the fascia's clipping straight in or is the actual dash a differant shape/size etc

Also, will any mod's be needed for the air con/stereo area

cheers mark

I am doing that at this very moment
The actual dash moulding is the same......
You will need the complete centre console assembly inc. the gear surround; side panels etc.; the centre dash fascia with heater controls and switches; the centre panel which the fascia clips into; the centre vents; one metal bracket which secures the centre panels is different, as are the stereo side brackets; relocation of mirror switch.
The heater control panel wiring harness is the same!!

I've got a proper list with some part numbers and some pics. if you need them. It is an expensive, but worthwhile mod. IMHO.

PM me for more details if req.

OK Guys.....I'll put together the parts list today....must find all the invoices!!
I have also fitted the complete my06 STi Type RA black interior inc. the door panels
The mirror switches are different between the MY02-04 and the my05-06.
I cut and extended the wiring from the centre console into the drivers side door trim and put the old switch there, as on the 05-06 cars

Right, i'm off to get this list together.

Here goes :

1 x 92112FE000OE Centre box assembly -
This is the armrest and lower centre console.

1 x 66203FE200 Reinf. Lower Compl
This is a metal bracket, replacing the current one, where the glovebox and centre inpane screw into.

1 x 66086FE000OE Centre Inpane
This is the panel where the stereo and heater control panel fit into.

1 x 92136FE000OE Cover R RHD
The part with the two cup holders, clips into Centre box assembly.

1 x 66063FE010OE
1 x 66063FE000OE
These are the front side panels of the console, fit into front of Centre box assembly.

1 x 92123FE300 - Boot Handbrake
Handbrake lever gaitor surround, clips into the bit with the 2 cup holders.

10x 904500025 Self tapping screws
2 x 909140024 Clips
6 x 66063FE010OE Clips for dashboard

The following i got from the breakers.....BUT, I will try to get the part numbers from my dealer for all interested parties.
Heater controls/Switches - original wiring loom plugs straight in.

Centre heater vents - These clip straight into original dash.your original black hazard switch can be re-used, (Although i have a few spare silver ones if req.)

Radio surround panel (Have a spare one of these too)

Gear lever gaitor and surround, with STi metal trim.

The radio mounting metal side brackets are different....the original can be modded to fit, but i changed mine....i don't have the part numbers for these though.

Hope this helps all of you......it WILL cost best part of £500 !!

I'll forward some pics. to crispyduck, so you can all view them there
Any further questions pls pm me and i will try to help.

Bit late to be posting in this thread I know guys, BUT can you answer me this:
If I were to just try and swap the dials i.e the heater matrix controls that sit behind the surround rather than the whole lot - would this be a straight swap?

As I understand it the wiring looms are identical, it's just the dials are different....so if I were to get hold of the heater assembly that sits behind maybe I could swap em?

I did the swap last weekend and haven't noticed the same problem mate. Sure it's not the controls you've put in?
BTW - what did you do with the handbrake gaitor? I left it off cos it looked so daft..
And where did you put your leccy mirror switch?

I did try folding the gaitor in but I found the problem was that the handbrake then fouled against the side of the armrest, and also that the gaitor wouldn't clip tidily against the handbrake lever - it just looked too big!

I've done the same to my bug and replaced the handbrake handle so using the oe gaiter out the hawkeye is all fine. In the process of making a custom gaitor too.
