Default Interior Rip Out

Morning All!

I’m planning a big ICE install on a 2000 classic and as such will be removing most of the interior. I can’t wait for all the rattles…

Anyway, advice is required on removing the centre console and gear gaiter, as I can’t find a guide anywhere!

I also promise to take a shed load of photos and put together an FAQ for the whole thing.

In addition, any experiences/hints tips and tricks would be welcome, to help prevent me buying millions of snap-pins and a gallon of no-nails to repair my ham fisted efforts.

Many thanks, and a big thumbs up to the guys and gals that braved the horrendous afternoon at Castle Combe.

Open the cubby hole between the seats.
Flip off the two screw covers then undo the screws.
Remove the trim around the handbrake (pulls forward).
Then you can remove the gear gaitor (once the gear **** is unwound)

Take longer to type than do !

Most trim pulls off - a quick search on here will give you most instructions.

If your near Lancashire give me a shout - I can strip an interior in less than an hour

Chris

Putting it back together is the tricky bit

Cheers Chris,

Was beginning to lose hope there – the centre console looked like that should be it, but you never know whether there are hidden little catches and so on – I’ve been caught out before, but always on much cheaper cars!

Thanks for the offer – Lancashire a bit out of reach, being in Gloucestershire! I’ll make and be sure to take lots of pics though to show how it goes.
