I doubt very much if it's do-able, i don't think the saloon seat will offer enough support given that you may carry loads behind the seat, brake hard..... need I say more??

Yeah hes right mate, not do able as it doesnt give enough support? pus the saloon hangars are in a different place to the wagon? You loose that 30/70 split and the headrests?

Sorry chaps, Ive got a rear early sti rear seat conversion in my wagon.
It was done using the split seat mechanism and a good trimmer.
I`ll take some pics if anyone wants...
My wagon is a MY95, and had the basic tweed seating.. and now has a full STi trim..

Thanx for all your replies....
***** , having got the interior v cheap, i had the same thought. Looking at my early (tweed) rear seat , i thought with a bit of time and effort it could be converted. The interior is early black/red WRX , not the usual grey which i didnt want. Has no hard mounting on the back / under the seat base. The base looks a similar size to the current seat. It's the back that looks tricky. I would appreciate any help / photo's you can provide . How long did it take you?
I got this interior for an unmissable price cos i have had no luck getting the proper wagon items., but might just sell it on if it's serious hassle and possibly unsafe.

Yep, but its not easy. Took a good motor trimmer (friend) quite a while, as he has to guess at dimensions, use all sorts of bits of trim and make extra side bits etc. reckon it would cost ££.

even the seat base is different: Wagon is flat (so seat back can fold onto it), whereas sallon has side bolsters.

Good luck!

Thumbs up

Hi pete

Thanks for the reply . Looks good but as you say , looks majorly complicated. Managed to get a set of front seats from an import that match my OE rear seats in the end.
