Cool Defi Controller II Position ??

Hi,

Just had a set of Defi gauges fitted to my 1999 RB5 and have the controller on the side of the centre console at the moment, however not very happy with this position.

I am wondering if any body has fitted the controller in the Ash Tray slot and if any hacking about had to be done ??? It looks like it will fit by removing the metal bracket attached to the top surface of the slot.

Hoping somebody can confirm that it will fit ??? If the answer is Yes, how does the metal bracket remove, i can see three screws at the front, but have a feeling it is attached at the back somehow as well ??

Your help appreciated

Dave

Yes it fits in there perfectly, no "hacking of bits" take out the tray and the metal bracket and it slides in great.

Thumbs up Removal Of Metal Bracket

Cheers for the replies, looks like i will be moving it to the Ash Tray !!!

Quick question for griffm or matieboy, how does the metal bracket come out ?? I have not tried yet, but there looks like 3 screws at the front, but it also looks like it is attached at the back somehow as well ??

Your help appreciated

It has a screw at the back also the easiest way is to remove the hole sorround otherwise it is very fidly. It does fit without removing the metal bit but not as nicely.

Love it.

Gotta get me a new head unit!

Are the Defi's on the steering column fixed using Defi's own housing?
