Default Double DIN centre panel

I have seen a double DIN centre console panel fitted in a Classic and I'm thinking of doing the same. I'd like to use the extra DIN slot as a storage cubby and have the CD higher in the console.

My car is MY97, does anyone know where I could get hold of the double DIN console ? Do they have a storage bin in them ?

I will be fitting a leather gear gaitor eventually so it would be even better if it has one all ready. I suppose that's a long shot.

I take it yours is a UK then

I think all the "imports" had a double Din centre console but they loose the "Bright switch" and get a silly cup holder instead

Who'd want a cup holder in a car instead of the really usefull "Bright switch"!!!

I had heard that JDM cars had the double DIN and I'm not
fussed about losing the clock. The CD and my voltmeter/thermometer
both have one. The original always reflected the passenger
seat anyway.

The trick is going to be find the JDM console.
