Question Sound-proofing material - any recommendations?

Specifically i need something for the boot floor and spare wheel recess to help deaden the noise from the backbox. Anybody know of any companies that specialise in sound-proofing materials for cars? Cheers.

These used to advertised in True Grip magazine
http://www.noisekiller.co.uk/soundproofing.htm

You could also try Dynamat.

I fitted Noisekiller into a MY04 JDM STi. The bits are clearly marked. Generally straightforward. The kit has precut rubber pieces to go in

boot (a doddle),
under rear seet (also a doddle),
front carpets (a bit chewy),
rear carpets (for me - even chewier - ended up folding the bits in half, sliding them under carpet and working them flat),
transmission tunnel (I didn't even try!!!!)

also lots of stick on bits that go into the spare wheel well, innder wings and door panels.

Definitely makes a difference - money well spent - quite heavy though.

Default re YOUR NOISKILLER

Just wonderd if u cud tel me where u got the noisekiller from and how much it costs including postage for a similar amount to what u ordered. Is it better/cheaper/more expensive than dynamat?

I'm thinking of putting some soundproofing in the rear half of my 97 Sport hatch.
The undercarpet stuff sounds easy enough, I did the fronts when I first got the car using some old material.

How easy is it to do the rear arches and inner wings ? The plastic liners look like they could be a bit awkward to get out.

I used Ivanhoe Sound deadening material, much like Dynamat on my sport. Used 3 rolls, would hate to think of the weight and cost for that lot, and I only roughly did the rear quater panels, the front door outer skins and the boot lid.

I've got some Ivanhoe Sound deadening material, did you just stick it on or does it have to be heated like Dynamat for the best results

Cheers

I did mine in the heat wave of summer last year, left it in the sun for 1/2 hour than had to use ski gloves to handle it!!!!! It got that hot. I would say use a heat gun, the bitumen like backing deffinatly works better warm.
