Unhappy Defi gauge fitting and pod advice please :-(

I bought a pod for my 52mm Defi gauges from a well known Subaru specialist and the finish was really bad so I returned it and they replaced it with their " best on shelf " . The finish wasn't too special either but I thought I was being picky so I decided to fit it and see what it looked like. Well ****e is the only word that springs to mind, my mate pissed himself laughing and said " you paid £80 for that ". Its got a groove round the left and doesn't even fit in the hole properly. ( its an STi 8 so its the hole that the clock pod goes in.)
I now don't know what to do can anyone advise me where they bought a DECENT pod from ? I think I'll get my money back for it. I would have bought a Defi original but they only make them in 60mm

Also can anyone advise me where to take the water temp from I only have one hole in the block, will I need to get a T piece for the top radiator hose ?

Cheers
Jas

Jas,

In fairness I don't think I was the mate that pissed himself when I saw the pod, although I normally do, lol

I went around to Steve's while he was having them fitted, and all I can say is they are rubbish. I got 4 Defi OEM mounting kits if you want to try that? Two years ago, I bought some Defis and a pod, and mine are so much more superior

get the subaru one from ...erm... your local subaru dealer. I think its by far the best, i can't stand those wavy things! Plus at £70 its cheaper!

Hey Jason, sorry to hear you've had bother with the pod. I found this pod on eBay a while back. They come up fairly regularly and look pretty funky to me (and i'm not usually a 'carbon' person). With the exchange rate they don't work out too expensive either. Unfortunately i do not have a MY00-04 to put one in.

Water temperature wise i got this t-piece from Demon Tweeks and fitted it into the top rad hose like this...

I hope some of the crap above is of use to you mate.
