when i remove the airbag and steeringwheel in my car, (perheps not the same, i have an my95)
i found a plastic thing, which i can turn, 2 and 1/2 turn at the right and the same to the left, it alsa has a little plastic window who display following when i turn the "thing":
2L , 1L , Center , 1R , 2R .
I live in sweden, maybe they looks different then the UK´s ?
I belive that the "thing" shall be removed, but i dont want to cut any wires before i´m sure about it.

Is the spinner thing you are talking about a black disc ? If so this is the wiring bitty that triggers the airbag IIRC in which case if you are getting a non airbag wheel then you don't need it.
