Talking

I'm playing around with the interior of my MY00 to see what results I can achieve.

The Subaru gauge pod had to be hacked a bit

Thumbs up

Looks great!
what type of dials are they?

I am going to get my digital compass replaced... but I want dials that look great at night time... the dash on my my99 looks good at night time... or even blue-glowing lights would look good...

Here is better photo of the gauges, sorry my camera is a little poor. Ignore the Oil Pressure needle because I took this photo before I connected the sender....hence it is sitting the wrong way

Doing all the fitting myself is my favourite part...apart from saving the cash, I like the challenge.

The gauges took some tracking down, but the quality is superb and far cheaper than the Japanese equivalents....they were the same make as the boost gauge on the A-pillar except I requested different options.

These (and other)gauges can be supplied a choice if bezel shape/material, needle colour, text colour and background colour. Mail me if you are interested in any gauges and I'll see if the guy I know can supply some more.

Any fitting advice just ask.

Regards, Houlbt

Robby, the interior was pinted with Taimya model paint....my car is in the rally car blue and I know Tamiya did a R/C car model paint in this colour. To protect it I lacquered the painted parts with normal cellulose lacquer from Halfords or somewhere similar.

The air vent is attached to the oddment tray thing as shown below. It is a tw*t to get out. I'm not sure how well the photo will reproduce, but can you see the tab on the edge of where the air vent would be?? There is one of these on each side which you need to ease out.

Once out, the black plastic 'air directors/ vanes' just clip out so you can easy spray pain the lot.

Ohh, I didn't need any undercoat etc, just washed everything throughly first the n painted the bits with 3 or 4 coats.

Regards, Tom H
